OUR INSTRUCTORS

Whitney Hosseini

Owner & operations manager

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu purple belt.

Shortly after assisting with the opening of the academy in 2010, Coach Whitney adopted a more immersive role at the gym and began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Kevin.   Playing soccer and running cross country for years, Coach Whitney is no stranger to the competitiveness of an active lifestyle. After her first Jiu-Jitsu class she was hooked! It was instantly apparent the morals and values that the art of Jiu-Jitsu has to offer to those up for the challenge and willing to learn.  A few of her favorites are self-defense techniques, confidence in one’s choices and abilities, camaraderie on and off the mats, and adopting a healthier and happier lifestyle. Coach Whitney assists in teaching the kids’ Jiu Jitsu classes and strives to establish relationships with parents and student alike in order to create a sense of community and acceptance.  While running the operations of the academy, she seeks to promote a family-oriented atmosphere. Coach Whitney currently possesses a purple belt and enjoys competing whenever she can. When off the mat, Coach Whitney works full time as a Civil Engineer, wife to Professor Kevin and mother to their two children!  Jiu Jitsu is Coach Whitney’s main source of fitness, her “me time” and a lifelong hobby.  Reach out to Coach Whitney @whitney.hosseini on Instagram if you are interested in learning more about women training at Ramona MMA Center!
