Muay Thai Kickboxing & Boxing:

Here at the Ramona MMA Center we offer two different styles of stand-up training: Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Boxing. These classes may be taken collectively or individually. Together, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Boxing will develop a more versatile fighter when assuming a standing position. For those interested in mixed martial arts, understanding how to properly assume this stance and how to counteract opponents is crucial to becoming a well-rounded fighter.

MUAY THAI KICKBOXING
Muay Thai is a combat sport that originates from Thailand. It utilizes stand-up striking, kicking, and various clinching techniques. Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” or the “Science of Eight Limbs” named solely due to its intricate use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”. The directness of Muay Thai is found in its heavy reliance on cardio training and powerful kicks and punches. Here at the Ramona MMA Center, we provide an instructor with decades of traditional Muay Thai Kickboxing experience and respect for this sacred art.

BOXING
Boxing is a combat heavy sport that concentrates primarily on foot work, punching and cardio. Boxing at Ramona MMA Center is designed to fit the different needs of every participate in the class. This sparring style is very dynamic and the class can be structured and altered to focus on striking, foot work, and conditioning in order to cater to the needs of the participants, should they be a boxing hobbyist or a mixed marital arts athlete. The Ramona MMA’s Boxing class is popularly used for its unique fitness element with a focus on stimulating the heart rate through the use of punching bags, jumping rope and other cardiovascular exercises.
