Ramona kids wrestling for Jiu-jitsu

Kids wrestling for Jiu-jitsu
Program Directors: Tyler McKay and Caitlin Munoz, head wrestling coaches for both the men's and women's programs at Ramona High School.

In Jiu-Jitsu, a strong understanding of wrestling principles is essential for mastering both takedowns and takedown defense. With the growing popularity of Jiu-Jitsu, some students may develop a habit of pulling guard rather than engaging in the initial battle for top position.
While we emphasize basic takedown principles from both Judo and Jiu-Jitsu in our core program, we also offer a dedicated wrestling program designed to enhance takedown skills.

This specialized training ensures our students, especially kids, become well- rounded athletes capable of dominating this critical aspect of the art.

By building a strong foundation in wrestling, we give our grapplers a significant edge—not only in Jiu-Jitsu but also for a seamless transition into the Ramona Highschool wrestling program. With guidance from our experienced program directors, Tyler and Caitlin, we create incredible long-term opportunities, establishing ourselves as the premier feeder program in the area
