KIDS BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
Physical fitness
Proper physical fitness is vital to establishing a well-balanced lifestyle. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides a fun and positive environment to achieve this while improving coordination, motor skills, agility and flexibility. Even more so, your child will be participating in a sport in which he or she will be challenged, will have fun, and can build lasting friendships! The objective is never to promote or glorify violence, but to provide your child with a sense of courage and confidence through the establishment of a proper self-defense repertoire. By doing this, they naturally develop a drive and determination that carries over into all facets of their lives.
Kids Brazilian jiu-Jitsu and self-defense classes offered:
Beginner/Self Defense Jiu Jitsu:
Students are taught the basics of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at an intensity in relation to their age level. These basics are taught through instructor demonstrations and applicable games in a fun, friendly, and interactive manner to support the learning process. This class also provides Gracie self-defense lessons. Gracie self-defense focuses on the aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that teach your child how to effectively protect themselves in a potentially threatening scenario.
Advance Jiu-jitsu:
Once beginner students have established the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, they may start to attend advanced classes should they desire to progress to the next level. The advanced classes provide the opportunity for students to study much more complex techniques geared towards an martial arts form known as “sport Jiu Jistu”. Within this discipline, the gi (uniform) becomes a tool during training, students learn to “set up” transitions to control their opponent, and to readily identify submission holds. Given the rigor, advanced classes require a high skill level that comes with experience. Lastly, it the intensity of training can be manipulated during sparring and drills for students preparing for competitions in order to accurately mirror their exact level of training
Beginner (All Ages):
This class is designed to teach the absolute basics of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In this particular beginner’s class, the younger and older students are paired to work in the same environment. The goal is for the younger students to adopt proper mannerisms and maturity during their interaction with their older counterparts. Likewise, the older students are exposed to the principles of mentorship during this process.
